Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) held another Canadian Experience Class (CEC) round of invitations on October 15, 2026. If you're building your future in Canada through Canadian work experience, here's what this draw means and what to do next.

What changed

Here are the key numbers for the October 15, 2026 Express Entry round:

  • Round type: Canadian Experience Class (program-specific)
  • Date and time: October 15, 2026, at 10:02:33 UTC
  • Invitations issued: 2,500
  • CRS score of the lowest-ranked candidate invited: 519
  • Tie-breaking rule: September 21, 2026, at 19:00:47 UTC

How the tie-breaking rule works: If more than one candidate had the lowest qualifying score of 519, IRCC used the date and time each profile was submitted to decide who was invited. Candidates with exactly 519 points were invited only if they submitted their profile before the tie-breaking timestamp.

How this compares: Published draw data shows the previous CEC round on September 29, 2026 invited 2,000 candidates with a cut-off of 518. This round invited more people (2,500), and the cut-off went up by one point.

Who it affects

This draw was only for candidates eligible for the Canadian Experience Class. In general, the CEC is for people with at least one year (1,560 hours) of paid, skilled work experience (TEER 0, 1, 2 or 3) in Canada within the three years before they apply. They must also meet the language and other program requirements.

  • If you were invited: You'll find your invitation to apply (ITA) in your IRCC account. You have 60 days to submit a complete application for permanent residence.
  • If your score is close to 519: CEC cut-offs have stayed in a narrow range in recent rounds. Even a few extra points could make a difference.
  • If you're not CEC-eligible yet: Keep building your Canadian work experience, and make sure your language test results stay valid.

What to do next

  1. Check your IRCC account to see if you received an ITA.
  2. If you're invited, start right away. Gather police certificates, your proof of work experience (reference letters), proof of funds where it applies, and identity documents. Book your immigration medical exam if you need one. Your application must be complete and accurate. Misrepresentation can lead to refusal and a five-year ban.
  3. If you weren't invited, look at how to raise your score. Options include retaking a language test to reach a higher CLB level, adding French results, getting a provincial nomination, or updating your profile when you gain more experience or education.
  4. Keep your profile current. Update your profile when anything changes, such as a new job, new test results or a change in marital status.
  5. Stay informed. IRCC has also announced Express Entry changes scheduled for October 16, 2026. That could affect future rounds.
